So when folks make some kind of "but it's for your own good" statements about other's bodies, that's weight stigma. And it's NOT for their own good.
Stigma = shame = unhealthy and not health-promoting.
Shame, loneliness and disconnection are huge factors in our national rates of dis-ease (aka unhealthiness).
So no, your kid doesn't need to be told about their weight "for their own good." That damages health.
